Taos Workshop: Tapestry in Taos

October 7-9, 2024 with Rebecca Mezoff

Color blending in tapestry: the colors of Taos

Join Rebecca Mezoff for a three-day workshop in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. In this class we’ll explore color blending techniques in tapestry weaving using Taos Wools’ churro tapestry yarn. We’ll explore technical ways to make new perceived colors as we weave and you can choose to make a sampler of these techniques or create a landscape or other image of Taos-inspired color combinations. We’ll expand your technical tool box as we explore ways to achieve our desired visual effects using simple color combinations and optical blending.

Experience required: For this workshop you must have woven some tapestry before. I’m assuming you can warp a loom and understand how to make basic forms in tapestry weaving using meet and separate. The workshop is appropriate for advanced beginner and intermediate tapestry weavers.
